Argentina is a huge country worth exploring in it’s entirety, from the vibrant city of BA, to wine country in Mendoza, to Patagonia and the Southern Tip of the world before the South Pole. The country provides a little bit of everything. It’s important to note that Argentina is currently experiencing 100% Inflation (this may change). There is an official exchange rate, and an unofficial exchange rate known as the Blue Dollar. The latter is essentially double what the official exchange rate it. Normally you would have to exchange USD with local venders to get the Blue Rate, but in 2022 the government passed legislation that allows VISA or Mastercard Credit Card holders to automatically get the Blue Rate when swiping their card. This means carrying around less USD or Argentine Pesos. Leave your AMEX at home, and try to use your card so you don’t have to carry around tons of cash. Argentina is also famous for it’s empanadas which are baked, vs Colombias which are fried. While here definitely do an asado, get some chimichurri, and late night for some drunk food (or not) get some Choripán and enjoy a glass of Malbec. Given the large influx of Italian immigrants, you’ll notice a ton of Italian influence throughout the city.
