Things to See:

Restaurants:

Argentina is known for their Empanadas, which are traditionally baked. Don’t tell anyone, but i prefer Colombian Empanadas (also known for empanadas) which are traditionally fried. Another thing you should try besides the endless amounts of meat during an Asado (go to a Parilla) are Choripán, which are a great late night snack. It’s important to make reservations in advance [at least a month] especially if you’re coming during prime season (December-March). If you don’t, you can usually show up at Noon and ask for a lunch reservation, or at 5:30PM EST, and ask to be put on the wait list for a dinner reservation. People in Argentina eat late, and party late, so don’t be surprised if they give you a 23:30 / 12AM reservation.

Don Julio – Best Steak in BA, make sure to salt your meat, Argentinians don’t believe in pre-salting
Order – Ojo de Bife, T-Bone, Entrecôte, Short Ribs, Chorizo, Tomato Salad, Salame de potro, Zucchini)
Update – on my most recent trip to BA, it wasn’t as great as i remember, but was still very good, be sure to order salt for the table as the steaks tend to come a little under-salted (great wine list)

Fogon Asado – This place is a culinary, and gastronomic experience. It’s not your traditional Parilla, it’s elevated and takes the meat and overall dining experience to a whole new level

Gardiner – White table cloth restaurant

La Cocina – Very good Empanadas
