Cinqueterre:

Go to all 5 towns, if you cant hike between the trails (which is tough, if you are not in shape, or have arthritis don’t do it. Or hike one trail, and take the train for the rest of the routes) take the train which runs very often.

They are all stunning but my favorite city is Vernazza

Restaurants:

Go to Belforte in Vernazza. It is really worth it. The view is spectacular, and the food and wine are outstanding. Pasta is made in house (fatta in casa)also, really good.

Order: Trofie with pesto made by Michela, Squid ink tagliolini with shrimps and seaweed. Tiramisu for dessert. Great wine list.

While in Cinqueterre don’t forget to try Focaccia Bread, it was born in the region and there are a million places to try it. Good for an early snack while hiking the trails. Batti Batti is a good place in Vernazza but there are so many good places all over Cinqueterre. Also don’t forget to try Facaccia di Recco which is a Focaccia with cheese which is awesome, it’s thin crust unlike Bari style.
