Restaurants:
Safari Room – Ocean Cliff Hotel – Nice view
Castle Inn – Nice view of the main beach
Newport Vineyards – it’s ok, if you have lots of time in newport maybe check it out but nothing like Long Island VineyardsLobster Bar – Fire lobster rolls right in the main port area, right next to the Black Pearl which is apparently a Newport Institution. There are two types of lobster rolls, a “naked” one which is just lobster meat with melted butter and then a regular one which is like the one with lobster salad chives mayo etc. I obviously opted to get both versions every time
Flo’s Clam Shack – This place is a well known spot. Right near the beach. Definitely opt for the Fisherman’s Platter. You will get everything you want on one perfect plate. Maybe also get the lobster roll platter if youre really hungry as well
White Horse Tavern – Didn’t get a chance to go but apparently americas oldest tavern. Which i thought was weird because i thought that the place in FiDi was like the dead rabbit or the one next to it? anyway.
Spiced Pear – didn’t get a chance to go but it looks unbelievable. Housed in a beautiful hotel on the water, menu looks good.
Clarke Cooke House – popular restaurant in newport
Activities:
Go on the Cliff Walk to see the main mansions
Go to Eastons Beach – Main beach in Newport
Try to get a reservation at Guerneys whether its the firepit, or Scarpettas restaurant (they are licensing the scarpetta restaurant in NY). It’s a diff vibe than Guerneys Montauk but still cool and fun, great view of the boats
Bars:
Pour Judgement
Roof Deck at the Vanderbuilt – great rooftop bar view of the water
Barking Crab
Red Parrot
Stoneacre Brewery – There are a few locations throughout the city, but what i think is cool is right in the middle of the town square on Thames Street there is a little station there where you can get Aperol Spritz’s for the road. Literally like open container roadie aperol spritzes which i love
