    • Neighborhoods worth wandering – Ginza (5th-Avenue-style luxury), Shinjuku (best nightlife), Shibuya

    Restaurants:

    • Manten Sushi (Marunouchi) – the must-do. A ~24-course omakase for around $69 — unreal value. Reservation required, book well in advance
    • Tsujihan (Nihonbashi) – legendary loaded chirashi bowl; they pour in a warm fish broth once you’re about 80% done. No reservations, expect a line — grab a sake from a 7-Eleven and drink it while you wait
    • Ichiran – the famous ramen chain, worth the line; order extra toppings since the base bowl runs small
    • Kitchen Nankai (Jimbocho) – katsu black curry
    • Menya Musashi – amazing thick-cut pork tsukemen
    • Chisô Kon’ya – rich tonkotsu ramen
    • Tonkatsu Marushichi – insane A5-style tonkatsu
